Church History

About Us

Established by Reverend Duvil Beaujour in 1996, Church of God (Eglise de Dieu) is a Haitian-American Pentecostal church located in Brooklyn, New York. After receiving a revelation from God to serve and minister, Reverend Beaujour obtained his Certificate of Ministry from the New York Theological Seminary and founded the church shortly thereafter. After twenty years of ministry, Reverend Beaujour and his wife Marie are still going strong, remaining steadfast in their commitment to serving the Lord and their community.

Church of God (Eglise de Dieu) is dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and encouraging others to experience the power of Christ in their own lives. We pride ourselves in being a “local church” with an impact to our surrounding community and beyond.

God has blessed our church’s journey in many ways and all glory to Him for his constant faithfulness. Inspired by Luke 6:38, Reverend Beaujour has a favorite phrase he shares: “Offer to God, and He will offer to you. Give to the Lord, and he will give to you.”

Church Highlights

Food Pantry Program: Since 1996, we have sustained a weekly food distribution program that supports those in need. A dedicated program team of about 20 volunteers currently distributes 6,000 to 8,000 boxes every month. Our program partners include Food Bank NYC, City Harvest, and the United Way of NYC.
Eye Exam Program: Church of God (Eglise de Dieu) has a relationship with New York Downtown hospital whereby people suffering from eye issues or in need of new glasses are serviced by a medical professional for free.
ESL Program: From 2007 to 2009, we had a successful ESL (English as a Second Language) program which offered classes to help students learn English or improve upon their knowledge.
Nutrition: Offered nutrition classes, led by a Cornell University representative, to educate the community on healthier food choices
Counseling/Job/Immigration Support: Our church is a family. We support church members and those in need with regards to life counseling, immigration issues, job searches, judicial matters, and more.
